Can anyone explain why in America some cars have these black strips on the front of the hood/bonnet? I think it spoils the look of the car. |

that's the first i've seen on a car. usually they're on pickups as bug deflectors |

Yes, they are called Bug Defectors, and they are a waste of money as they do not work at deflecting bugs. I had one on my Land Cruiser to hide a dent in the hood, not to deflect bugs. ![]() |
