 1968 or 1969: the side markers were introduced in 1968; the 404 was last sold in the US in 1969.
Peugeot considered these cars as "Export USA" since they had some specific characteristics that included an anti-pollution system called "Coppolair" ( it reduced carbon monoxide fumes without reducing horsepower ), an upholstered dashboard and rear red indicators, among others.
