The Crew Cab was sold in Holland as 'Pick-up met dubbele cabine'. (1968-1973) |

Also a DoKa, not a pick-up. |

Mike just said "Pick-up met dubbele cabine" in Netherlands... |

Yes, it's the name in Dutch, probably the name, VW has sold it with, but not really correct. Pick-up("Pritsche" is the official VW-name) and "dubbele cabine" (Doppelkabine "DoKa") are different cars. Here it's the problem with export-names for different countries again. |

Well, if VW sold the Doka as Pickup in Netherlands, why wouldn't we call it like that? As we name Dodge Viper as Chrysler for the European ones, just to take an example. |

Because it irritates a lot. We should make the difference, if a car has just different names in different countries, like the VW DoKa above or if they are real different versions. "Pick-up met dubbele cabine" means nothing, it's just written in the sales brochure or in advertises. The VW-internal codes and numbers for chassis, version and spare parts are the same. It's a different thing than to compare the European T3 to the T3, made in South Africa. |
