 The colour coded rubbing strips mark this as a Croisette limited edition, only available in Pearl Grey and with a number of unique features.

While in some markets Croisette was based on RD, it is a model in its own right.

 UK Croisette info from here (an ad for a UK-supplied RHD 22 TRS. "As the CX matured towards the end of its production life, Citroen introduced the Croisette trim grade as offered here. It was a special and rare model in the Citroen CX range, derived from the CX 22 TRS. It was only offered during 1988 to Belgian, German, Netherlands, Austrian and the UK markets – just one year before its XM successor was launched."

Glass's lists it only for the 22 TRS in UK, but other market might have had different versions?? May 88 - metallic grey paint, central locking, electric front windows, tints, GTi-style bucket seats, rear sun blind. Other online comments suggest TRS-style rear spoiler, no trim strip on boot rear edge, pinstripes above the thick side moulding and along boot edge below spoiler, colour co-ordinated grey interior with luxury grey velour on seats. May have had cheap nasty wheel covers, but often upgraded to alloys.

 Sold as CX 22 Croisette /CX 25 Croisette but usually badged just Citroën (right) and CX (left) at the rear, with Croisette on the C-pillar

 RDW does list Croisette in the model description if it is one,

Here they explicitly say RD, so why go against that.
