1985 too early for Cooper. Early wing mirrors and red/white roof could be 1960s Cooper S, although bonnet badge is wrong. 1985 was the year when official J Mini imports restarted (I was unsure of exact date mid-late 1980s before, but 1985 now confirmed) so this might be the explanation for its appearance here. The new imports had several unique-for-J names such as 1000E, 1000LE, 1000HLE and 1300S (plus some unique special editions in late 80s) and a huge range of dress-up dealer accessories from the start with lots of retro items. So my hunch is 1985 with model name impossible in this shot; will assume Mayfair because it was the most common mid-80s title in most markets. |
