By what is possible to understand of the windscreen, it's a 1303, sold in the US as Super Beetle. These wheels along with the front seats with integrated headrests identify a 1976 model year car. |

But the front turn signals are on the fender, not integrated in the bumper. And the colour is "marathonmetallic" -in use 1972 to 1975. So this should be a 1974-model. |

The Beetle sedan was sold officially in the US until the 1977 model year and the front sidelights/indicators were always placed on the front wings in these US-spec cars. The VW model year system started in August 1955 with the 1956 model year and the colour you mention ( L96M ) applies to the 1976 model year ( although I'm not really sure about this shade of blue ). http://www.volksaddiction.nl/techpages/colors.htm |
