I think it's a Chrysler E-Class. |

Actually I think it is the mid size Mercury mid 80's (the the one before the sable) Noptice the tailights and interior door courtesy lights. |

I am 100% sure it's a Chrysler E-Class |

These E-Classes must be rare, how was a good example available to be found for the tv show? Someone must have an interest in really rare Mopar. -- Last edit: 2008-02-04 03:00:50 |

The rarest E-class I've seen was a Limo for sale... too bad I wasn't old enough to drive then. |

Wonder how Mercedes felt about Chrysler using the "E-Class" name? |

Not to mention Mercedes-style color keyed wheelcovers ![]() ![]() Photographed that one last month, lives a couple miles from me. If it's still there in the spring I'll knock on the door and inquire about buying it. They're so rare and that one looks to be in great cosmetic condition, though it doesn't appear roadworthy at the moment. I'd love to have one. -- Last edit: 2009-12-18 06:04:28 |

@jettalover: this "using" was a poor, embarrassing, failed try to catch a little bit of the real Mercedes Benz-aura and -reputation. But due the shape and the stlye of the cars, their quality and the Chrysler's reputation itself, Mercedes Benz never had any reason to feel straitenend. And Chrysler had acted even worse than copying the hubcaps! ![]() ![]() /vehicle_244979-Dodge-600-1984.html /vehicle_90785-Dodge-600-1986.html Good use: /vehicle_244979-Dodge-600-1984.html Hopefully the badge was hit, too. ![]() |

*yawn* Always the same stories... MB didn't use the E-Klasse name yet. They started to do so in the 1990s. ![]() -- Last edit: 2009-12-20 17:54:05 |

I don't think that there are too many people who would confuse a Chrysler E-class with a Mercedes E-class... which is why these cars were quickly renamed Plymouth Caravelle in 1985. |

Another one model year trim level name that had to be changed fast; Ford using the "SS" designation for the sportiest Escorts in the early eighties. Pretty flagrant jab in Chevy's eye. |

Hit TOO? I don't see anything else "hit"... I think you pasted the same link twice. ![]() -- Last edit: 2016-01-08 15:12:52 |
