Odd tyres arent they, are they bulletproof? and what is it on? |

It seems so. You cannot see the side windows good, but the frontscreen looks also like the bulletproof version. The North Korean leadership will have their reasons to choose bulletproof cars. |

I think this car belonged to Kim Il-sung. The tyres appear to be resting on porcelain chocks, with porcelain vases under the body. |

"The tyres appear to be resting on porcelain chocks, with porcelain vases under the body." Why would you wanna do that??? :S I think this is an S-Class Guard W140 as well because of the tires and the wider wheel arches: http://www.gdtm.net/MBimages/W140Guard.jpg Normal S-Class W140: http://www.autoweek.nl/images/800/1/a5622af85fc8f9177925ded49724a3c1.jpg |

Because this Mercedes belonged to the Great Leader, Kim Il Sung. It's a holy relic. |

Hmm... Still kind of weird to park your car on top of some vases. Expensive and rare ones yes, but still :S |

If I recall correctly in the mid 1980's there was a Bentley or Rolls resting on tea cups as a publicity stunt for a British department store. Does anyone else remember this? -- Last edit: 2008-05-03 22:02:01 |

No, but I can remember that, a long time ago, in a Dutch tv-program called 'Wedden Dat..?' a truck was placed on 4 glasses of beer (placed upside down and empty ones off course ) with its wheels. Looked pretty impressive. |

This was in 1981, one of the most legendary scenes of this show: Link to "www.derwesten.de" Even more legendary than a car (it was a VW Golf I), hung up on a newspaper (I justt cannot find a pic of it). |
