Mirrors also appear black, indicating earlier model (later models gained painted mirrors, but unsure what year they changed). CHMSL was required from mid-1989 in Australia, but some models fitted them earlier in 1988, and a couple even in 1987. I think it's pretty safe to assume it's a 1989 320i?
