Looks like a circa 1960 AMC Rambler American. |

Yes, I think it is. |

I couldn't find clear differences between the 1958-1960 models of the Rambler American (btw without AMC, that name wasn't used before 1966). |

1960 is correct owing to presence of side spear. Super or Custom, as Deluxe models did not have the spear. 1958 to 1960 Rambler American Identification: So far as I can tell from a review of available documentation and photos, these 3 years looked identical from the front and rear. The only difference is in the side nameplates and trim. 1958: Deluxe and Super lines. No side trim (spear) on any model. "Rambler American" toward the REAR of front fenders. Super models have bright trim at base of side windows and front/rear window bright borders. Deluxe models have rubber borders. Two-door sedans only. 1959: Deluxe and Super lines. Same as 1958 except the side nameplates just say "American". Station wagon models added. 1960: Deluxe, Super and Custom lines. "American" nameplate moved to the FORWARD edge of the front fenders. Super and Custom models have side spears. No bright trim at the base of the side windows on ANY of the 3 lines. Four door sedan models added. |
