Dodge started using the name Swinger on the Dart base hardtop coupes in 1969 when they discontinued the 2-door post sedan. It was the base hardtop coupe in 1969-1970, and from 1971-1976, all hardtop coupes were Swingers. The base Dart was a 4-door sedan only these years. Before 1969, base Darts could be 2 or 4-door sedans. In 1969, the hardtop was also available in Custom, GT and GT-S trims. For 1970, the other trims were Swinger 340 and Custom. In 1971, Custom coupes were dropped. |
