@rjluna2: According to a book at home (Gunnar A Sjögren; bilar på Saab-vis (1983)) (ENG: Cars according to Saab), the badge came down to the grille in MY 1963, but if I do an Internet search it seems that some of MY 1962 had it as well. |

@zodiac, these hits would be based on data from whoever posted these pictures. Also remember most pictures out there would be shot when the cars are 50-60 years old. But even sales brochures could be erratic. 1963 also gained a slightly larger, square inner mirror (impossibleto tell with this view), and added a horn ring, still with the old instruments |

@tore-40: My fault, you are absolutely correct. I temporarily forgot that most car manufacories present their new models in the autumn of the previous year and as a consequence a Model Year does not correspond with the calender year. But when one look at the papers it only says when the car is made. Hence those faults on an Internet search. Volvo once called their models with both years, like 1962/63, but that lead to confusion. |
