Chassis: International Harvester Loadstar Body: Not sure on this... possibly Ward? Anyone have input on this? |

Christopher lives in this bus while he's in Alaska, so I'd say it's worth at least four stars. -- Last edit: 2009-03-26 23:08:15 (G-MANN) |

On the other hand if the vehicle is used as house rather than as vehicle, I am not sure that we can count that as "used" ![]() |

The better picture shows it isn't an International Loadstar like I thought it was in the other picture, i'm not sure what this is actually. |

Looks to be a 1942 Ford B-series, or an F-series with a bus body. |

On peut lire le nom de la compagnie d'autobus : "Fairbanks city transit system…" n°142. C'est un piste pour avoir l'info. du constructeur. |

Even though it never moves, this bus becomes Chris's home in the Alaskan wilderness so I think it has an important role. -- Last edit: 2009-03-26 23:09:28 |

It's an International Harvester KB-Series of some kind. Too old to be a Loadstar. -- Last edit: 2009-03-14 08:54:48 |

We still need to reach a decision on the star rating for this vehicle. |

Since no one bothered to comment I decided to give it 4 stars. |

1947-1949. This bus was left as temporary shelter during the re-clearing of the Stampede Trail between 1961 and 1963. |

This is a 1946 K-5 with a Wayne school bus body. The KB series didn't begin until 1947. |

It didn't move in this film. |

The movie prop bus is now on display at the 49th State Brewery in Healy, Alaska: http://49thstateofmind.blogspot.com/2011/05/here-comes-bus.html The original is still there on the Stampede Trail, although in worse condition now; bullet holes have nearly obliterated the number 142. |

The real bus is still in place, it had the engine and seats removed and was towed behind a bulldozer and used as sleeping quarters by the road builders until the axle broke. Then it was left there to be used by anyone who needed somewhere to shelter. Sadly over the years it has been vandalised, all the windows broken, names written and scratched all over the interior and parts such as the steering wheel stolen. Amazing that people will travel so far just to cause damage. |

Good news about them moving the bus. A deadly tourist trap |
