Has a wreath around the crest on the trunk, so not a SdV. The front fender badges are usually an early 80s thing, like 1982-83. |

If it's the one I transferred from Leipzig in May 1995, then it is a 1983... ![]() |

Grille looks like a 1981, which means this might be one of the infamous V8-6-4 engined versions. Infamous, not in a good way! |

why is it so infamous ? I know of the shitthy Northstars engines or the old V8 diesels but why this ? -- Last edit: 2019-05-21 22:15:55 |

*Argh* It's not the one - I made it all the way home without complications back then, as it wasn't a V8-6-4! Yeah, 1981 looks fine. @mike962 https://www.velocity-group.de/blog/infos-zu-cadillacs-v8-6-4 ![]() -- Last edit: 2019-05-21 22:22:16 |

was a cylinder-deactivation engine, set to either work as a 8, a 6 or a 4 cylinder but didn't really work in either ways , it was about as reliable as a buried solar panel ![]() |

I don't know about Chrysler, but I believe Ford has something similar now for the F-150 It made it on that guy's list, whoever he is. -- Last edit: 2019-05-21 23:39:55 |

No, Ford does not currently (nor have they ever) use a cylinder deactivation system, but both GM and Chrysler still do. |

Oh yes, GM was building some real hot garbage in the 80s and 90s. ![]() |
