For the 1966 Le Mans, SpA Ferrari had fielded three Ferrari 330 P3s, none of them finished the race: No. 20 - Driven by Italian racing driver, Ludovico Scarfiotti and British co-driver, Mike Parkes, crashed into the wrecked No. 42 Matra MS620, nine hours into the race with 123 laps completed. Scarfiotti survived the crash with minor bruising. Prior to the race, the No. 20 was due to be driven by British racing driver, John Surtees but the manager of the Ferrari Racing Team and Enzo Ferrari's second in charge, Eugenio Dragoni had replaced Surtees with Scarfiotti, citing Surtees wasn't fit for racing due to an injury that Surtees had sustained weeks earlier, leading to a confrontation between Surtees and Enzo Ferrari, and resulting in Surtees resigning from the Ferrari Racing team. Some believed that Dragoni replacing Surtees was seen as a "political move". No. 21 - Driven by Italian racing driver, Lorenzo Bandini and French co-driver, Jean Guichet, failed to finish with engine problems 17 hours in the race with 226 laps completed. No. 22 - Driven by Italian racing driver, Giancarlo Baghetti and co-driver, Umberto Maglioli, failed to arrive at the racing grid before the race started. -- Last edit: 2022-06-26 03:32:48 |

Somebody got a little mixed up. #21 had the two white hash marks, not #20. |
