What is that red lamp on the bottom of rear fascia? |

Not sure of the correct English word for that, but it is the light that you turn on when there is much fog. In some European countries this was mandatory already since long time, I guess that it is now the case in whole Europe. On my 206sw it is also placed in the middle: http://www.antp.be/pic/206_20031013_r.jpg In Belgium it is required at least since the 70s - so all cars had to have one added when none was included originally. I remember that on the 1984 Civic that my father had this lamp had been added below the bumper, on the left. -- Last edit: 2007-10-31 01:38:06 |

It's called the foglight. -- Last edit: 2007-10-31 01:39:26 |

Nowadays there are silly people who turn them on without fog, which is annoying as it distracts you when driving and hurts in your eyes. |

Yes, each time it rains a little heavier or that there is a little fog (really a little, i.e. you still see at 300m ahead) some people turn it on (for no reason!) and even forgot to turn it off for the rest of the day |

Yes... |

I did not know fog light could be red. Almost always white in America. Oh well. |

Rear foglamps are red - white are reverse gear lamps or whatever you call them. |

the logic is that red = car going in the same way as you, white = car going towards you. So the only non-red lamp at the rear is the reverse one. (except turn indicators ) |
