I think it´s a 1938 Buick Phaeton |

It is 1936. Hard to say which series - there was a phaeton version of all series. Parked in front of it is another GM phaeton. |

But the black one does not have a page of its own. |

Buick did not make a trunk back convertible in 1938. They were all slant backs. Based on the tail light and that it is a trunk back it is either a 1939 or 1940 Series 80 (so 81C, which was the trunk back convertible designation). If 1939, it is a Roadmaster. If 1940, the model name for series 80 was changed to Limited. RE: The tail light. Buick used a different tail light for the small series Buicks in '39 and 40. The big series Buicks for '39 and '40 got the 1938 tail light design. I am a '38 Buick guy, so I do not know the differences between '39 and '40 but the belt molding and the hubcap MAY be a way to differentiate. For now I'd say the more commonly produced one, which would be the 1940 80C Limited convertible. |
