All the others are in US films, this is meant to be filmed in Kenya. Now wondering if this is something there's more than one of, rather than some Hollywood studio lashup (though you would assume that all the other four are the same car).

All those other appearances are later than this, and al four films are MGM productions. This suggests that MGM bought the Land-Rover in Kenya and shipped it to the US.

KBU 852 fits as a Kenya plate about 1954 - I've got a book pic of a Beetle KBU 854 on the 1954 Safari Rally, which was won by another Beetle KBU 777. Kenya L-R builds didn't start until 1961, ditto (approx) for Tanzania, and Rhodesia which I think was 1962+. However ZA could fit - they did 80", 86" and 107" from 1952-55 before a production gap until 1959.

I think proportions are right for a 107" chassis - if not they're very close - so built on a 107" chassis cab?? But where these c-cabs came from and who did the bodies and where is up for grabs. But I think the whole batch can safely be switched to 1954 107" - comments??
