This being in Yugoslavia it could be one of the 150 Bulgarian built Bulgarenault 8 or a Romanian Dacia 1100... |

Dacia had such big chromed bar at the front. Bulgar was build in a CKD system (and as you've noticed in very small numbers), so rather wasn't exported abroad of Bulgaria (CKD cars usually aren't). In the 1960's, before the production of R4 started in IMV, another Yugoslavian company - Titivi, made some Renaults (CKD). If I remember well one of them was R16, but R8 probably too. -- Last edit: 2007-12-06 22:26:23 |

I don't remember where I found the number of only 150 Bulgarrenault... But according to Wikipedia production was quite big and lots were exported: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgar_Renault |

An interesting info about export of BR10 to Yugoslavia (sounds like only these ~500 cars were exported there, but that's just my imagination). Anyway it is really not so obvious that it must be a Bulgarian made car. Now, I can't find the book in which I've read about Titivi Renaults. |
