Typo? Rather 1968-73 1200 |

No, not a typo. But surprising to see it's a 68. They got the year right and the engine wrong: /vehicle_320555-Volkswagen-1500-Typ-1-1968.html |

Well, until 1966 the lid was pointy and almost reached the exhaust. 1967 was also way down there, but with a flat edge, and a vertical number plate. 1968+ lids were shorter like this with the plate located higher. 1200 for the old type bumper an taillights. And the black moldings. |

This looks familiar - a bit of filmic mischief?? Not just the VW, but also the J4 van. The blue Triumph 2000 behind was a Herald estate in the original, so maybe these two 1997 and 1998 films share some footage?? However the VW has different format plates. So someone's playing tricks ...... |

The Beetle is closer to the crossing in the Italian film. Perhaps the same person worked on sourcing classic cars for both films. |

Perhaps someone told them it was illegally parked. |
