According to rush’snrecent comments these were not sold anywhere but Japan. [AH10] default code and J tag added since this is HK. |

And that's wrong. Toyota made export-spec Alphards from December 2003 onwards, presumably for HK. Two trim levels, MS and MZ, each with their grille & front bumper combo. This could well be a 2004-05 MZ. |

What the? NO. Look, I'm not gonna be an advocate, Exiv, but honesty, disagreed... Where did you get that information? What's the source links about that? I would say that information looks definitely 100% unreliable, unverified and inaccurate. I'm sure Wikipedia may reject that info too, they'll mark that as very unreliable if it's added to their Toyota Alphard article, so makes NO sense. Besides, Hong Kong is very known for their scattered grey-imports like JDM cars aside to those sold officially over the years, especially for minivans like Alphards, Vellfires, Elgrands, etc. For example, while third-gen Alphards and second-gen Vellfires were sold officially in Hong Kong DOESN'T mean the grey-import units may stop entering to HK anymore. As for the first-gens, should be shaved, there's NO way we might tell if this one is some kind of that "specification" you've mentioned above because again, NO actual reliable sources been found. As I've mentioned before, first-gen models were JDM only, period. This information is definitely a contradiction; it is MORE pointing to unofficial grey-imports, NOT from Toyota themselves. |
