SLR 1 is no longer on a 300 SL ... We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided NISSAN GT-R PREMIUM EDITION S-A 2010 Registration number: SLR1 Body type: Coupe Colour: Red Date of first registration: June 2010 .... but it says here that SLR 1 was chassis 767-036 with engine 198/980-55/00801, bought by a Mr. Atkins in December 1955. Are there any famous Atkins who might be candidates for such an exotic purchase?? |

A strange made for tag here. Although the RHD/LHD issue should not be involved when adding this tag, it seems the steering wheel isn't even where the British cars usually have them. Is there another reason for this tag? -- Last edit: 2022-10-19 19:51:51 |

Nearly three years has passed. Is that a delayed action joke? |

Assuming it wasn't directly imported as a standard German market car: miles/imperial units in the gauges, rhd beamimg headlights... English user's manual... UK plates? None of which falls within the (old?) rules of what warrants a made-for-tag i.e something obviously visible from the outside (other than rhd/lhd) and/or different model name specific to the market. |

Unusual paint finish - roof, bonnet, wheels - did Merc UK offer upgrade pack? Also noted from my link above to known UK cars that the next chassis #767-037 with engine 198/980-55/00800 also arrived in Dec 55, and was registered ROB 2 to a Mr Rob Walker. I'd bet a large jar of Marmite that this was the same Rob Walker whose racing team ran Stirling Moss a couple of years later. So the mysterious Mr Atkins was in VIP company. |
