Early front Ace rather than Cobra - no arch lips, and the stepped ledge below lights. Late Aces with the 1961+ Ruddspeed Zephyr 6-cyl introduced the smoother nose and foward grille which transferred to the Cobras. Production seems to have been 680 Aces, 220 with the original AC engine, 414 with the 1956+ Bristol option, and 46 Ruddspeed Zephyrs. Or another sources says 223 cars had the AC engine compared with 463 Bristol-engined cars and a further 37 Ford-powered examples (total = 723). I think I've read somewhere that export efforts only really succeeeded after the Bristol option was available, so Bristol probably the most likely here. |
