A naming nightmare. Has 1970+ Mini (make) bonnet badge, but the front is bodged with newer bits. If it's an Austin (which is the natural default for Pickups as they were all made at "The Austin" Longbridge factory) then the DK name should probably be Austin Partner Pickup (or is there a Danish word for Pickup??). Not much solid for a date either, but has seatbelts and steering wheel/column look 1970s rather than 1960s. Which would mean Mini as make. So mini Pickup?? or Mini Partner Pickup?? Or...?? |

/vehicle.php?id=1335920 Best online Mini Pickup account at the moment (There was a better site but it's vanished, although the link has grabbed a lot of the data). And can now eliminate a few of my questions above. - Mini Pickups were sold in DK as Morris Mascot Pickup 1961 to unknown date (but I guess 1969). No mention of Austin Partner Pickup, so cancel all the Austin-based suggestions. - this one has been bodged so much it's impossible to know what to trust. But made-for-DK side indicators seems reliable (unless it's had wings from an Innocenti added, which is too unlikely to accept). And the seatbelts and just-visible-in-7th-thumb here (but better seen on the other sighting) rectangular driver's door mirror suggest early 1970s Mini as make. 1960s mirrors were round (first on wing, later on door; late 70s mirrors were still on door but plastic instead of metal). |
