Early 50s serie 711-735 FIAT-Cansa-CGE "Filobus" (Italian for trolleybus, literally meaning "wire bus"). Possibly with a Viberti body. If we would know the colour, one could tell who is the operator and research more on the related website, which in Italy often has a 'historical' section. Italy takes great pride in its industrial heritage and rightfully so. Any idea in which city this was filmed? |

I've just seen that noone of us (admin) did put the name on this picture!... so what is junkman good find made for? thank's for this info "junkman". to answer to question, the city is ROMA... is CGE the electrical power manufacturer? ... then like french CGE (Compagnie Génerale d'Electricité)which made Electrical locomotives before merging with Alsthom ..if I remember well? |

Yes, CGE (Compagnia Generale di Elettricita)is the electrical power unit manufacturer. It was actually a branch of the American General Electric back then and the equipment was made under license in Italy. Since it is in Rome it is a Fiat 672 F Cansa CGE. |
