Sorry to keep on bothering you about this, but how can you know it's even really a 1985? I mean, I know that the LAPD used Impalas in both 1982 and 1985, but this could be another car that was dressed up as a police car. Don't forget, LAPD cars weren't too complicated to make back then and the Aerodynic lightbar was a widely used lightbar. Besides, I can tell you that most of the LAPD Crown Victorias (and other movie police cars, for that matter) that are posted on the site are incorrect and not authentic. Just a point I wanted to bring up. |

I agree ford guy. Most such cars are props prepared for the movie - not real police vehicles. |

Well, most are authentic police-package vehicles, but the majority of these movie cars are dressed up to represent a different agency than the one the police vehicle actually served in. |

Speeking of dressed up; the thumbnail showing the driver's door has the LAPD "service motto" incorrectly on the right side of the LAPD seal. I wonder if the words are changed from what a in-service LAPD cruiser would say? |

I'm not sure. I don't know of any known photos of REAL LAPD Impala's, so I can't tell. But as I said before, this one is probably not authentic LAPD. |

This one isn't authentic. The lightbar is positioned toward the center on the rooftop, whereas the actual lightbar was positioned toward the front of the roof. |

So then why did you say 1985 if you knew it wasn't authentic? |
