From Wikie- Hard top cabs 1940- Aug 1943 thereafter canvas tops. 980 -rear winching only 1940-1942 superceded by- 981- front and rear winching capable 1942 onwards. So ![]() All canvas top cabs were 981s . Assuming no cab change of course. (Easy way to tell is 981 has a hole for winch cable in front bumper but not seen here ) So likelihood this is 980. -- Last edit: 2020-02-09 08:16:58 |

Only three Diamond T fairground trucks are known in the UK Fun Fair Lorry Photo database: Assuming they used real ones and just changed the livery for the movie, it might be one of them. I don't know if that helps, but it was worth a try. |

That database is limited to the photos the chap has copyright for. The info could be useful but there were dozens of various model Diamond T 's with showmen . -- Last edit: 2020-02-09 22:36:55 |

Staffs County Council had several similar Diamond Ts for years, which were used as gritters. iirc they were registered LRF (2/46), and disappeared when the M6 opened. Presumably they were ex WD vehicles. Astridge’s removal van in the background is a Fordson 7V. |
