When Maxim went bankrupt, there was about a dozen or so cabs Maxim had custom ordered from TCM (Truck Cab Manufacturers) that were unused. KME bought most of them at the bankruptcy auction, and used them on some of the 1991 Renegade trucks. The cabs custom built for Maxim can be told apart from the regular TCM cabs, as the Maxim cabs have a two piece flat windshield rather than the standard two piece curved windshield. At least 3 cabs were not bought by KME: One was used to refurbish a 1981 Continental Compac for Portsmouth, RI; a second one was used to refurbish a 1987 Mack CF for Fitchburg, MA; and a third is apparently still near the old factory out in the woods. -- Last edit: 2020-12-08 20:36:21
