I think it's a coupe, maybe a convertible: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x22wm51 |

It does look as if the roof opens, but sorry, I didn’t get enough to be certain of the model. |

It is a Sedanca de ville top, which can be plainly seen at 13.26 where the split is in the roof. |

Not sure about the Sedanca de Ville top. I think it's probably a soft-top convertible because it looks as if the entire top can be removed, particularly if you watch the long shot on the bridge in the distance. I think it's probably a Phantom III Convertible -- with two doors though I can't determine the model year. The cut seems awkward when the chauffeur gets out and then opens the door for Leslie Caron. She apparently uses the driver's door on the right-hand side (note the steering wheel) and pushes the seatback forward to get out. She could have gotten off in the first place as soon as the driver hopped out. But I guess the director wanted a more dramatic effect with the door being opened for her. It creates the illusion of a four-door car, which it isn't as far as I can tell. What do you guys think? |

There's some witchcraft underway. The preceding London footage is irrelevant (including the thru-the-window shot with varnished wood window pillar) - there is too much foliage in the real scenes for any London bridge, so we can assume the set-piece moments - including the second bridge and its shots of the RR crossing it behind railings) are likely US location. Agree likely to be a 2 door convertible of some type if they're all the same car, but with a roof which has a join to allow a semi-furled position - a bit like a Porsche Targa. I wonder if the roof is actually solid sections instead of folding fabric and maybe compartment over rear seats is fixed, which reinforces my first impression on watching it that there's something kitsch 1970s/80s in there as well. Probably not a Stutz Blackhawk, but something of that genre ........ |

Yes, we can definitely consider the London footage as irrelevant. The interior shots from the car is stock footage from a movie library. What is suggested as a bridge over the River Thames - the long shot immediately before Leslie gets off the car - is the only actual footage produced for this episode. It is actually 3rd Street Bridge in Napa, CA 94559. The bridge looks slightly different today because it had to be rebuilt after severe earthquake damage. |
