Is it usual that they use old cars like this one as taxi cabs? I mean, the oldest car I have seen as a taxi cab was a mid 90s Mercedes in Berlin. |

The car is part of the joke: it is owned by the detective's dad who is an ageing hippie. In later episodes it was replaced by a W124 (/vehicle_159732-Mercedes-Benz-200-D-W124-1985.html). |

Great, thanks for the answer. But I like the car a lot. |

@Phil Leon: in Hamburg this taxi is running: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28291883@N03/3177290027/ (a restored one, not a taxi since the beginning) and in a Mercedes-forum is written, that in Berlin shall work two other Heckflossen, too. |

@ingo: Thanks for the link to the Mercedes, great to see that there are still cars like these one the road (even if they are not really taxi cabs). Cars with a character, with a style that a modern car would never have. One person of my relationship had a light blue Mercedes like this one. Great car, sad that he sold it. |

A light blue-grey Heckflosse has also a role in my life (a 1967 190): it was the first car in my life, I had been in. My grandfather brought my mother and me back from the hospital after my birth |

Maybe it was the same one? By the way, I don't know the first car that I'd been in... Maybe an ambulance or something... I don't know it. But I remember that my father had only cars from Ford since he got his driver's license - except the VW Käfer that he got when he was in the Bundeswehr, so it may could have been a Ford. |
