They've had some random choices of patrol cars over the years which weren't really used by other police forces like Fiat Tempras and Rover 600s so a low spec E36 was probably a bit normal for them. Not sure which derivative they bought and can't decipher the plate beyond suggesting it's a 1997/98 R plate.
