A standard Checker taxicab of the early fifties ca 1951-1953.These may be recognized by the rear axle placed almost at the rear end of the car to increase passenger room and the sturdy bumpers and bumper overriders .These cars had a front grille reminiscent of that of the 1941 Cadillacs . |

The actual production years for this cab would be from 1947 (models A2 and A3) through 1955 (models A6 and A7). The only way you can really tell for sure is by a look at the front grille and the VIN number. |

Hate to disagree with my good friend Checkertaxistand, but this is actually an A6. It has the large wraparound bumpers and the raised rear roof for increased headroom. The A3 had smaller bumpers and smaller windows. |
