1976?... the last DS came out from Citroen factory in 1975 (it was the the 1330775th DS an the last, a DS23 Pallas Injection). This one is a typicall DS (UK) with round rear lights...seems to be a Pallas with lateral beadings, but I don't know if Pallas name was used on british models?... Prominent doors handles leeds to confirm that the car belong to models produced between 1968 to 1971. |

There were still citroens made in 1976. In South Africa. I owned a ds23 pallas with airconditioning, blue with a white vinyl roof. When living in Holland still I used to drive dafs, mainly the 55 and 66. (station wagon because the shape was funky!) later I owned a Volvo 66, but they had changed the driving selector to represent a more "automatic" gearbox look and did away with the "forward - backward" shifting device. The Dafs 555 were used for the "Ralley Cross" in the southern part of Holland in the 70ties and were the fastest cars on Earth for a while, outdoing the Ford Escorts from England! dirck96 dirck96@lantic.net -- Last edit: 2008-04-01 09:18:42 |

MCO xxxP plates were never issued, so plates are totally fake. Pallas name used in UK from Sept 66 DS19 through DS20 and DS21 to final DS23 imports which stopped in April 75. Edit: is it the same car as seen in /vehicle.php?id=363422 ? This has a rear plate partly visible, possibly with 731 in the numbers but the rest unclear - is there a clear view of the plate (or with the boot shut of the rear badge?)? Also looks a bit dented with trim out of line, so they did not wreck a concours example. -- Last edit: 2011-01-04 13:59:34 |

The one in the main pic ia a 1971 only model: glued rear view mirror, still old door handles). The thumb with the dashboard (and therefore probably the other thumbs of the accidented car) shows a mirrored French DS dashboard, so after Februari 1966 (when the Slough production stopped; the Slough built DS's had round instruments), but older than September 1968: when the round buttons were replaced by rectangular ones and the hole dashboard and steering wheel became black. So if the exterior pictures of the accidented car show the same car, it's a 1968 only model (new front). |
