I don't think it's very common, it is imported from Europe which probably makes it rather expensive for what it is... It always amazed me that VW did not "export" the Seat brand to Latin America. It would make a perfect "budget" brand in those markets with VW striving to move upscale... But then it seems that building Gols, Paratis and Sedans did not hurt VWs reputation and ability to peddle Touaregs there... |

They are, but they have to be shipped from Europe, which makes them excruciatingly expensive given the EUR/USD rate, not to mention shipping accross the Atlantic is not a cheap business either... |

PS. Actually, they are not - the Ibiza is priced comparably to a Derby or Lupo (though the Pointer can be had for less than 3/4s of the money) |

I guess he means that they are not expensive actually. Could be logical if the Peso rate is not linked to the dollar. |
