This seems to be a stretched Volvo. There's a little emblem on the C-pillar. Used for all the car interior scenes in series 1 (because of the extra space for the camera crew).![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In episodes 1.1, and a couple other episodes they seem to use a long wheelbase Volvo for interior shots but this one has darker coloured seats, otherwise it looks very similar to the Volvo used in episode 1.4. ![]() ![]() ![]() The interior of the stretched Volvo is used again in two short scenes in episode 2.1, the first one-hour special "Rise of the Nutters": ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-06-12 00:41:17 |

If you look closely at the first 2 thumbnails, you can see that is a specially stretched version with an extra compartment in the middle. Does that little emblem I've mentioned mean anything? I've heard of the long wheelbase version of the Volvo 940/960 with a longer rear door, this looks like this: http://www.orebrolimoservice.com/default.asp?page=fordon, but an extra long stretch version. Notice how the little window behind the door on the C-pillar isn't really a window. Did Volvo make stretch limousines in the factory, or where they done externally (after production) by private coachbuilders? -- Last edit: 2007-11-21 17:30:02 |

G-Mann is right - the car seems to be similar to this one http://www.orebrolimoservice.com/img/volvo_pull_1.jpg And I believe they did not made them right in the factory, but am not sure ![]() |

Yes my mistake I did not realized the Car is so long when I have look to the Pictures, I think the normal Executive was manufactured by Volvo but the Cars with extra long wheel base are for sure produced by special Body Shops but I am not sure to. -- Last edit: 2007-11-27 00:56:23 (G-MANN) |

The stretch limousines were commissioned and sold by Volvo, but the coachwork was done by Nilsson of Laholm/ Sweden as Volvo´s associated contractor. If the car shown here is a stretched version, it was built by Nilsson as well. |
