Reminds me of ARO, for some reason. |

We did have AROs briefly in UK, but can't find info when/which models - and maybe a different make name?? Vague feeling we've discussed before, but can't find the page (or maybe I'm confusing it with discussions on UK Dacia Denems or similar). |

They were sold as Portaro Pampas 250/260 and built in Portugal: Also some forum posts: http://rodasdeviriato.blogspot.com/2010/10/folheto-portaro-pampas-em-ingles.html http://www.aro4x4.net/smf/viewtopic.php?p=98060#p98060 Though I think there may also have been some non-Portaro ones later on? -- Last edit: 2020-06-01 19:44:20 |

Maybe this might help: Mind you, there was also a portuguese Portaro (which was based on ARO, and looked almost identical), and it was sold in the UK as well ?? Edit: nvm, I see Sandie mentioned Portaro as well -- Last edit: 2020-06-01 19:46:41 |

Here are some videos as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W7QXIj2Ys4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq5BJptpXxQ It seems the imports of AROs were earlier than the Portaros (see the second video), here's a brochure cover: |

I think it is Portaro, rather than ARO, most of the images show that Portaro had this black, plasticky front-end with square headlights, wheras ARO looked a bit more subtle. Incidentally, even the image in my first comment is that of a Portaro and not ARO -- Last edit: 2020-06-01 20:16:23 |
