This is a Firedome Sportsman model 43 4d hardtop. Fireflites had a medallion above the vertex of the chrome kink on th rear fenders. Sporstman script can be seen forward of gas filler door. http://www.kruse.com/news/Desoto/58Firedome.jpg |

Now, I've done it! [MS2-M-43]. I had typed model 43 earlier, but somehow I rewrote it incorrectly. Exactly what antp was talking about. Model 41 is a 4d post sedan, not a Sportsman hardtop. Oops! |

The car behind, another 1959 De Soto, has a very unusual blue with red top colour scheme. I wonder why this is that way. |

That one could actually be silver rather than blue because of the lighting and film stock. |
