Remodelled E04C van? Were it a car, the wipers on the Anglia are located in the scuttle pointing upwards. As the film is 1956, it seems unlikely that a Popular 103E, introduced 1953, would be the donor car. It’s also acquired some big eyes from somewhere. -- Last edit: 2020-07-10 23:35:23 |

I thought it was a pick up with a canopy, may be wrong. The rear body appears a lot narrower than the cab . |

Seems only Aus made official pickups. "As with many E83Ws, it isn't unusual to find a vehicle that has received significant bodywork modifications over the years. Some vans, perhaps as a result of rear accident damage or changing needs of their owners, find themselves cut down into pickups or other variations of body styling." from here. |

Ford made a very few Popular pickups by grafting the E83W rear end, somewhat modified, onto the 103E front, but did not appear to have productionised the design.![]() Dave Turner - Ford Popular and the Small Sidevalves - Osprey 1984 Page 71 The other possibility is that it started life as a Martin Walter Utilecon, and got a kick up the exhaust pipe. (Yes they did one on the 5cwt van as well.) -- Last edit: 2020-07-11 16:40:15 |
