1978(?) Dodge T-80 800/1967 CONDEC Ex USAF fuel tanker (5,000 gal.)- these were surplussed to fire departments and converted to hold water This one is interesting, and kind of a long story, originally it had a 1967 GMC chassis: http://firenews.org/mass/tu/uxbridge/UxbridgeT1GMC-Byron.jpg and later the tank was moved to the Dodge chassis which it has in the picture: http://massfiretrucks.com/Uxbridge_Tanker_1_OLD.JPG I believe this Dodge chassis was a 1978 model sourced from Rehoboth, MA, which they got USAF surplus in the late 80s/early 90s. Rehoboth moved their identical 5,000 gallon tank to a 2002 Mack chassis, and I believe (but have to confirm) sold the Dodge chassis to Uxbridge to replace the original GMC cabover chassis. Rehoboth later replaced their original 5,000 gallon CONDEC tank on the Mack chassis with a 3,600 gallon stainless steel Progress tank http://firenews.org/mass/r/rehoboth/RehobothT3old.jpg http://firenews.org/mass/r/rehoboth/RehobothT3.jpg http://firenews.org/mass/r/rehoboth/RehobothT3-2016.jpg -- Last edit: 2020-08-02 00:13:29 |
