@Gamer: GM's Swiss plant in Biel had already closed a couple of years earlier: http://www.swisscarregister.ch/site/montage/montage_suisse_gm.html |

The badge is throwing me off. It looks like a long word, like Chevrolet or Oldsmobile. Most of the Malibu badges are up higher on the tailgate (when they have one, looks like most badges have been removed on survivors). I did find a couple 1980 Malibus with the badge in the same place, but the badge is smaller. The later Malibus have bigger letters, but all seem to be high up. Most of the Cutlass badges seem to be in the same location, but include the rocket emblem with "Oldsmobile". This one doesn't look like it has an emblems, just letters. LeMans and Bonneville badges are up higher on the tailgate, and Century/Regal is in the right place with a shield emblem, but I don't see that saying Buick. My guess is that it is a "Chevrolet" badge. Here's a brown 1980 Malibu and a blue 1983 Malibu, showing the badges: |
