This is not the Mark II, but the previous model, called 2.4 Litre or 3.4 Litre, from 1955. Some call it Mark One, but this name never existed. |

Open spats with body colour wheel paint should be 1957+ 2.4. Much easier to use Mk.I name for these - trying to reliably assign 2.4 or 3.4 as model across them all would be a nightmare. |

Are possibly these bumpers the 3.4 litre ones ? I read on a book that the bumpers were different but I have to check where I actually did. -- Last edit: 2020-08-13 10:47:12 |

As far as I know all Mk1/Mk2 1955-67 had same double-ridged bumpers across all engines including the Daimler V8 twin. The only change was 1967 revamp, which renamed as 240/340 and Daimler as V8 250, which all shared new slimline single-ridged bumpers; 340 only lasted a year, but 240 and Daimler carried on until mid-69. There was no official 380, although a small number of 3.8 340s seem to have accidentally happened - perhaps 12 - with normal 340 boot badge but carried-over 3.8 grille badge. Back to this one - despite body-colour wheels it's a 3.4 - all-red grille badge (2.4 was red centre with black outer) and wider grille. |
