I'll have a go at this being an SC1 (LWB?) Freestone & Webb and maybe 1956 chassis SXA123 with VEN 237 plate, "des.3206, body 1809, Saloon, for comedian Max Miller, with a later dated redesigned nose on this by 2001" from here (halfway down). May also have had YWB 640 plates if this google pop-up is correct. A different RR with VEN 237 |

The easy one first. The linked picture is of a Silver Dawn SSS, exhibiting the VEN237 plate. It looks kosher to me, and not a demoted Bentley. Now on to the subject car. It certainly looks like F&W design #3206, whether or not the Max Miller car isn’t certain as seven were built on Silver Cloud LWB chassis, plus one additional 3206/A for an Earl’s Court show. In any case the redesigned nose is far from a success. I would support identifying this as SC1 F&W design 3206. -- Last edit: 2021-11-01 17:01:44 |

Pick the bones out of these. Beware of the ones with the hooded headlamps, they are not part of the discussion. https://www.coachbuild.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=137 |
