Daffodil [31] saloon arrived UK Dec 63 in 3 versions - Standard [311], Deluxe [312] and LE [313]. Deluxe and LE had shiny trim, LE added air-con(on 746cc!!!) and "rear ventilator windows". Apparently we also got a Combi Estate Car [316], but I don't remember that at all. 1964 brochure ... which solves one mystery for me - where this 90s indie Madchester group got there name - "The name comes from a poem by Adrian Henri that mixed an advertisement for a yellow Dutch car with a Wordsworth poem". From what I remember they were one of several forgettable low fat rip-offs of the Stone Roses, a band who spectacularly crashed and burned after an amazing debut album. |
