Can't find anything on DVLA or other websites about the number plate BUC 604 , but there's this picture: https://auto-zer.com/photo/armstrong-siddeley-17-hp/03/default.html It says 1935 Armstrong Siddeley 17 Hp. Is that right? |

Well, it’s certainly an A S on your link. Whether it’s a 17, and who did the coachwork is another question. -- Last edit: 2020-09-27 23:05:16 |

The 1935 date of BUC is right, Corporal Jones’s van in Dad’s Army tv series is BUC 852. |

I have checked the number, it is London County Council, February 1935. |

The picture linked by s13a also appears on page 4 of issue 28 of Country Motor Australia, available online at Link to "static1.squarespace.com" They state that BUC604 is a "1935 17-hp Armstrong Siddeley with custom cabrio-limousine coachwork by Salmons-Tickford" and cite "Cars of the 30's and 40's" by Michael Sedgwick. |
