Looks like US/NA-spec sidemarkers. |

Windscreen looks steep enough for 2+2. |

I think it's this one. They list it as E-Type Series II, despite the sidemarkers. It has swiss (CH) sticker on the back, though. Did swiss have sidemarkers on their E-Types? |

Interesting question, which I can't answer but am intrigued by. First I agree it's that 69, which is a 2+2. As for the lights, we have a handful of E-Type/XK-Es in Germanic sightings (I think including CH but I can't quickly find one) with US-style sidemarkers eg this S3. CH sometimes had odd light specs (eg early Lotus Elans had treble rear lights instead of normal two, so there's a slight context for occasional quirks. However noted that most US XK-E S2/S3 had full orange front lights but this one has normal UK/Europe white/orange split. And a bizarre fact lodged in my mind that the Austin America [ADO16] was sold in three countries only - US, CDN and .... cue drumroll .... CH, for which I've never seen an explanation, so uncertain if it was deliberate or perhaps a way of clearing an unsold batch intended for US into a compatible market if US regulations had changed so they needed redirecting. Probably safest to keep this as a US-spec XK-E as things stand, but remember where it is in case new info emerges. |
