An Alliance! Was this episode filmed in the UK? Plate size doesn't look american anyway. |

That looks like a French plate to me. Four numeric two alpha two numeric. |

walter's theory is that the scene was filmed in the UK with a readily available LHD French car, which happened to be a Renault Alliance. |

US-spec oddballs in Yorkshire may originate from the Menwith Hill base near Harrogate which is US-run despite the token RAF prefix, and it's very common to see US variations in and around Harrogate and Leeds. We have some likely examples used a few years earlier in The Sandbaggers (eg the VW Rabbit and Fiat 124 estate). There's also the Fylingdales radar base further away near the Yorkshire coast, similarly US-run. A UK plate for something this modern would be reflective (also for instance if it was an F plate), so this might be a US-base related temporary/military issue. |

So it's bought or borrowed from a US serviceman at Menwith Hill or Fylingdales, with a prop French plate. -- Last edit: 2020-10-09 23:06:53 |

The only difference is the 2-Door body style is exclusively USA version. |
