1940 Buick Convertible Phaeton to me. I'm unable to say what series. |

With suicide doors, I'd say this is a Limited Phaeton series 81C, because this has a pronounced trunk area. This is an 81C, seems to be the same car listed in Hemmings I believe the 80C looks like this (only 7 produced!) Another 80C (click on 1940 Buick Limited Phaeton to bring up second window) Very, very, very sad. |

The LIMITED moulding is barely visible on the close-up of the cowl. Buick used the name Phaeton to identify all of its four-door convertibles. |

If this is indeed an 81C only 230 were made. One of the most expensive Buick models sold that year, $1952. -- Last edit: 2007-12-18 22:43:48 |

This could be a Roadmaster. I've just learned a lot from pilou about the "Niagra Falls" car. |
