Greece seems to have had a tax threshold at 1200cc so special versions of many things were sold with sub-1200 engines - we've had mentions for Cortina Mk2 and maybe early Mk3 1100, Fulvia S2, Beta 1100, Alfa 33 1.2 and Fiat Tempra 1.1 for instance. My Lancia bible says there was a Greek Fulvia S1 GT 1967-69 with 1199cc, 78.8 bhp, engine spec 818.282 (compared to normal GT 1216/1231cc, 80bhp) coded 818.282 column gearchange (possibly 358 made if I'm understanding list of chassis numbers correctly) and 818.292 floor gearchange (possibly 298 made). No mention of a Greek GTE, nor any use of this engine for any Greek Fulvia coupes. Early Fulvia S1 - plain Berlina and 2C were 1091cc so below the 1200cc threshold and no special engine needed. This 818.282 engine was then carried through to Greek Fulvia S2 Berlina with unchanged outputs as model 818.692 (1969-70, 4 speed, maybe 690 made) and 818.694 (1970-72, 5 speed, maybe 2114 made). No trim level listed, so presumably just the one version offered. |
