Chevrolet Corsa's origin surely isn't USA... To be disputed whether it's Germany/Europe, Brazil or Mexico...

The orign is GM Europe, but the Opel, named Chevrolet in South America, were also assembled there, as I know, in Argentina.

The Chevy Corsa C was assembled in Argentina 2000-2005, so we can assume "built in RA" here

This is my intention, too ;)

The same as this in Vauxhall it is a Corsa B shouldnt it be a B too for the Chevrolet version?

:??: the Vauxhall version is called Corsa mk3, the Opel is C, so this one is C too I guess...

CarChasesFanatic ES

why corsa MK3? it is the second version only as the first Corsa in the UK wasnt called Corsa...

Opel Corsas there are 4, Vauxhall Corsas there are three and Chevrolet Cosas there is one, so? although they carry the name corsa they come from a different brand, no? so should they be labeled as each generation depending on the brand?

You mean in Vauxhall? not the same as our first generation no, so then shouldnt the second gen Opel Corsa called A in the UK?

Here you get it:

I mean that the Vauxhall Corsa started at mk2.
Anyway, this one is a Corsa C, even if there was no A and B as Chevrolet...

That's what i meant yes, but ok if you want to label it as if ti was an Opel.

It's the always the same car, with a few small differences for some export-countries. The names are often different, that's it.

P.S. In several countries runs the Corsa-production, but this changes nothing either.

Yes i know but well... doesnt matter i guess, anyway just out of curiosity, ive checked the Vauxhall Corsas pages and most of them are not labeled with any generation, how are we suppose to label them?

Ingo DE

I would use the system for the Opel Corsa. The Vauxhall Corsa is just the same car, only as RHD. It's production runs in the same factories in serveral countries, which produces also the LHD-Corsas. So the Vauxhall Corsa is not a British car, often not even produced in GB.
You only can see the country, resp.factory, of the production by checking the chassis-number. It's the only possibility.

Perhaps somebody could dig out GM development codes... Besides, the Corsa B was "Chevrolet Corsa" in Latin America too, before getting demoted to "Chevrolet Classic" in South America and "Chevy C2" in Mexico.

I suggest, that it should be cancelled to sort the different "European", resp. European based GM-cars into Opel, Vauxhall, Chevrolet (perhaps some Holden, too) etc., because it's irritating.
Just let's make all Corsas, Astras, Vectras, Omegas (sorted from A to x) in one block each, and the brand-names just as sub-chapters.

I did ask Antoine sometime ago if we could have chassis/platform/development codes overriding brands, but I guess this would require a bit of work...

Ingo DE

To check to at Wikipedia, should be the best idea. There the informations are usually quite exact. To ask the companies or the enthusiasts-club's, would be too much work.

If we can fill all chassis codes and years, we can get all models nicely displayed by year, ignoring the different makes. See for example the ADO16 which is one of the cars with the most makes & models:
/vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&sortBy=2&makeMatch=2&make=&modelMatch=2&model=ado16&modelInclChassis=on&page=7

Something that I like is the "timeline" thing used on many wikipedia pages. I plan to do something similar someday displayed on each make's first page, with links to other similar cars sold under other makes.

carchasesfanatic wrote ive checked the Vauxhall Corsas pages and most of them are not labeled with any generation, how are we suppose to label them?

I added the mk to those which didn't had any.
