Why made in Spain? I didn't know, that that the 32B was ever assembled there. |

According to the comment made by DatsunZ on /vehicle.php?id=109733 at least some were made there, but is it the case of this Polish model? |

As I know, DatsunZ is wrong. The name "Santana" perhaps makes you think, that it has something to do with Spain, like the Santana-Land Rover, but in fact the 32 B-Passat/Santana wasn't made there. I've asked the freaks from the "Passat-Kartei", the Passat-Club, and they never have heard anything about an assembly-line in Spain. I'm a bit common with a 32 B, I had owned one for 6 years, including contacts to the Passat-club, my father had a 32 B for over 10 years and never anyone has known anything about a Spanish made version. Yes, there was a -totally unknown- Santana-assembly-line abroad (except China): in Japan the Santana was produced as a "Nissan Santana". Even in Japan it's nowadays an unknown car, only a very few have survived. Actually I'm busy with a japanese friend, to bring a Nissan Santana to Germany. A Passat-collector want's to have it. Back to Japan we will ship a Polo Coupé. It's just a simple VW Polo, but the oldest known (chassis-no 137). -- Last edit: 2007-12-27 19:24:56 |

thése comments are old but /vehicle.php?id=109733 is from a spanish movie. Cars sold in Spain have to be built in Spain. |
